A theatre & visual arts project inspired by photography at the Number 8 Community Arts Centre, Pershore - February 2005
A play by Lance Woodman & an art installation by Sheila Farrell
"...this clever and engaging play... a real coup for this fantastic new venue... it deserves to be seen by a national audience" James Iles in The Worcester Standard
The Play: "Set now and in 1913, the story follows a photographer as he travels around Worcestershire. We are taken on a journey through the pictures he creates and the relationships he forms. As he learns his craft we see how this journey changes his life forever."
The Installation & Exhibition: takes up the play's themes in a contemporary context. Looking at the significance of the photograph in our lives, it is designed to encourage interaction with the viewers.
Practical Workshops have been created for all age groups including...
Generating Stories - a workshop for different generations to work together;
From Here to Hero - celebrating friends' and volunteers' work at Number 8;
Superheroes - a journey into the imagination and...
Tell a Story from a Picture - a drama workshop for young people.
'Upside Down and Back to Front' may tour in future years.
Would you like Upside Down and Back to Front to visit a venue in your community? The play, exhibition and workshop are designed for small venues, including theatres, community centres, schools, village halls etc..
